Clients rarely ask what technology their website is built with, and they should not have to. What they care about is whether it loads quickly, shows up on Google, stays secure and does what the business needs. Still, the choice of technology decides all of those things, so here is what we use and why, in plain terms.
What we build with
Our websites are built with Next.js, a framework made by Vercel and used by companies of every size, styled with Tailwind CSS, and hosted on Vercel's global network. As of October 2026 we use the latest stable versions on every new website.
You do not need to remember any of that. Here is what it means in practice.
Pages that load quickly
Next.js prepares pages on the server, so a visitor's phone receives a page that is ready to display rather than a pile of code to assemble. Images are resized and compressed automatically for each screen. And because there is no theme carrying features you do not use, each page contains only what it needs.
The difference shows. When we rebuilt the website for M Ryder Roofing, the mobile score in our Lighthouse tests went from 73 to 95, and the main content appeared in 2.9 seconds instead of 13.3.
Found by search engines
Search engines read pages that arrive complete, with proper titles, descriptions and structured data, much more reliably than pages assembled in the browser. Fast pages also do better in search. Next.js gives us all of that as standard, and we add the details: sitemaps, clean addresses and information that tells Google who you are and where you work.
Fewer security worries
A typical template website relies on a stack of plugins, each a possible way in. Our websites have far fewer moving parts and no admin login exposed to the internet unless a client needs one. When security fixes are released for the framework, we update every client website we look after, with nothing for clients to do.
Built around your business
Because the site is written for you, features fit the way you work: online bookings with payments, a configurator that turns choices into a quote request, a quiz that brings in leads. These are part of the website, not plugins bolted on.
Consistent design that is easy to change
Tailwind CSS keeps the design consistent across every page, so a new page or section looks like it always belonged. It also makes changes quicker, which matters when your monthly changes are part of the plan.
Is there a downside?
Two honest ones:
- You cannot edit it like a WordPress site out of the box. Changes go through us, and they are included in the monthly changes on our Care Plan. For clients who need to edit often, we can build in a simple editor.
- It needs people who know it. That is why we host and look after every website we build, and why the code is yours to take to another developer if you ever leave.
